Wildcats Defeat Binghamton & Stony Brook

UNH improves to 3-0 in America East
DURHAM, N.H. – The Wildcats won 14 of the 16 events as the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team defeated America East opponents Binghamton and Stony Brook at Swasey Pool on Senior Day. The Wildcats defeated Binghamton, 174-114, while UNH posted a 189-89 win versus Stony Brook. Binghamton defeated Stony Brook, 217-75. UNH improves to 4-2 overall (3-0 America East).

The Wildcats will conclude the regular season when they travel to Orono to take on Maine on Friday, Jan. 25 at 5 p.m.
Freshman Anna Metzler (Regensburg, Germany) dominated as she won three events. She won the 200 free with a career-best time of 1:52.90, while she placed first in the 100 free (53.21) and the 500 free (4:59.60).
Sophomore Miranda Bacon (Scotia, N.Y.) captured first place in the 200 breast with a career-top time of 2:19.11. She also won the 100 breast (1:05.82.).
Sophomore Melissa Dingle (Brighton, Ontario) tallied two victories as she recorded first-place times of 57.46 in the 100 back and 2:04.80 in the 200 back.
Senior Vivienne El-Sibay (Munich, Germany) posted the fastest time in the 100 fly (57.45) and in the 200 fly (2:07.48).
Senior Erin Cullather (Highland Park, Ill.) finished on top of the leader board in the three-meter diving event with a score of 218.60.
Junior Corinne Carbone (Medway, Mass.) posted the fastest time in the 200 IM (2:07.90).
Freshman Cate Wardinski (Burke, Va.) secured a victory in the 50 free with a time of 24.90.
The team of Dingle, Bacon, El-Sibay and freshman Cassidy Wilson (Toledo, Ohio) won the 200 medley relay (1:48.93), while Metzler, sophomore Sam Milligan (Needham, Mass.), Wardinski and Carbone tallied the fastest time in the 400 free relay (3:38.20.)
SENIOR DAY:
Before the meet, the Wildcats honored seniors Erin Cullather (Highland Park, Ill.), Vivienne El-Sibay (Munich, Germany) and Brittany Moffatt (Cedar Falls, Iowa) for their hard work and dedication to the program.
Cullather is a three-time All-America East honoree as she placed second twice in the three-meter event and third once in the one-meter competition at the America East Championships. She has also been outstanding in the classroom as she was named to the 2018 America East All-Academic Team and is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Honor Society.

El-Sibay is a three-time All-America East selection and won gold in the 400 medley relay in 2018. She placed third in the 100 fly in 2018 and second in the 200 fly in 2017, while she was fourth in the 200 fly in the 2018 ECAC Championships. She also won the UNH Coaches Award in 2018.

Moffatt has earned All-America East honors six times which includes winning gold in the 400 free relay in 2017 and setting an America East Record as a member of the 800 free relay winning team in 2016. She placed second in the 500 free in 2017, while as a freshman she was name the UNH Rookie of the Year and was named All-Conference three times at the 2016 America East Championships.
