Wildcats finish second in nine-team meet at URI's Tootell Aquatic Center
KINGSTON, R.I. – Junior Grace Mahon (Orange, Conn.) set a meet and pool record in the 100-yard butterfly and was part of another meet and pool record in the 400-yard medley race on Saturday, while senior captain Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) followed Friday's 50-yard freestyle pool record by setting another pool and meet record Sunday in the 100-yard freestyle to lead the UNH swimming and diving team to a second-place finish in the four-day, nine-team Harold Anderson Invitational, hosted by the University of Rhode Island at the Tootell Aquatic Center.
Vermont placed first with 865 points, followed by the runner-up Wildcats (726 points), URI (662), Holy Cross (446), Wagner (334), Providence (315.5), Maine (253.5), Stonehill (75) and Assumption (14).

Sunday Highlights
•Mahoney won the 100-yard freestyle in 50.01 seconds, breaking the previous Tootell Aquatic Center record of 50.27 set by U.S. Olympian Jenny Thompson on March 12, 1989. This marks Mahoney's third Thompson record broken this season, following her 50-yard freestyle records at Swasey Pool (Oct. 24) and Friday in this meet.
•Junior Emily Loren Wright (Ventura, Calif.) captured the 200-yard breaststroke title in 2:16.40, dominating the field and adding another win to her breaststroke sweep for the weekend.
•In the grueling 1650-yard freestyle, sophomore Marisa White (Apex, N.C.) placed second with a time of 17:10.71, just behind Vermont's Amy Kenworthy, who set a meet record. White was joined by senior captain Carolyn Nelson (Glen Ellyn, Ill./fourth, 17:20.76), freshman Miriam Youel (West Hartford, Conn./sixth, 17:31.90), and senior Trinity Devanney (Gulf Breeze, Fla./eighth, 17:34.87), giving UNH four swimmers in the top eight.
•The Wildcats' 400-yard freestyle relay team of Mahoney, junior Sydney Leblic (Madrid, Spain), freshman Kelsey Mayers (Waxhaw, N.C.) and Mahon finished second in 3:27.22, narrowly behind Vermont's winning squad (3:27.07). Mahoney led off with a blistering 50.54 split, while Mahon anchored in 52.32 to secure the runner-up finish.
•Mahon placed second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.40), while sophomore Maddie Serfass (Hersey, Pa./sixth, 2:06.08) and senior Caitlin Mason (Charleston, S.C./seventh, 2:08.18) added depth in the A-final.
•In the 200-yard backstroke, junior Izzie Campion (Auckland, New Zealand) finished fourth (2:04.06), and Mayers was seventh (2:05.20).
Saturday Highlights
•Mahon opened Saturday's action by winning the 100 fly in 54.81 seconds, breaking the previous meet and pool record-time of 55.74 (Halley Lanney, UVM, 2022).
•The Wildcats capped Saturday evening with a historic win in the 400-yard medley relay, as the quartet of Mason (backstroke), Wright (breaststroke), Mahon (butterfly) and Mahoney (freestyle) combined for a time of 3:44.64, breaking both the pool and meet records. Their performance shattered the previous meet record of 3:49.77 set by Wagner in 2024.
•Wright also set a personal best in the 100-yard breaststroke in a victorious time of 1:02.97.
•Mahoney placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.82, just behind Wagner's Mia Goodale (1:50.78).
•Mason finished sixth in the 100-yard backstroke (57.76), while sophomore Amelia Labno (Rosemount, Minn.) won the B-final in 57.38.
•In the 400-yard IM, Devanney placed fourth (4:27.62) and Leblic was sixth (4:32.13).
