Camara Posts Ninth Double-Double in 83-74 Loss at Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. — Iba Camara (Dakar, Senegal) recorded 20 points and 10 rebounds, but the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was defeated 83-74 by the University at Albany in Saturday night's America East matchup at SEFCU Arena.
Camara matched his season high of 20 points on the strength 10 of 12 shooting from the floor. He recorded his team-leading ninth double-double of the season and second in as many games.
Tanner Leissner (Converse, Texas) finished with 15 points, five rebounds and five assists, which matched his personal best. Josh Hopkins (Greensboro, N.C.) went 7-for-9 at the would line and netted 11 points. Evan Horn (Lebanon, Pa. scored eight of his career-high nine points in the first half; he also had four rebounds, two assists and two steals in 23 minutes off the bench.
UAlbany was led by Joe Cremo (31 points), who made four 3-pointers and 11 free throws. David Nichols (18 points), Travis Charles (14) and Greig Stire (10) also scored I double digits.
UNH, which defeated the Great Danes, 64-61, a month ago in Durham, is now 9-15 overall and 5-5 in America East. UAlbany improved to 18-7, 6-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UAlbany jumped out to a 12-6 lead at 15:41 and extended the advantage to double figures, 17-6, at 14:13.
With UNH trailing 23-11, Horn hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key and another from the right wing to trim the deficit to six points, 23-17, at 9:18.
The Great Danes answered with a 6-2 run to reestablish a double-digit lead of 29-19 at 7:17.
The Wildcats scored nine consecutive points to close within one points, 29-28, at 4:22. Horn's two-pointer from the top of the key ignited the rally. Camara followed with a basket on the right post, then Jordan Reed (Lucas, Texas) drove the left baseline for a layup and hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key.
UAlbany ended the half on a 6-2 run to take a 35-30 lead into halftime.
Trailing 42-37, the 'Cats went on a 6-0 run to take their first lead of the game. Hopkins drove down the lane for a layup, Camara followed with a layup on the right blocks and Leissner hit a short jumper in the paint to give UNH the one-point lead at 14:34.
The lead changed six times the next five minutes, but UAlbany took the lead for good when Nichols hit a 3-pointer to give the home team a 57-54 lead at 9:24.
Camara responded with a layup at the other end of the court, but the Great Danes inched ahead, 67-62, at 5:23.
UAlbany then went on a 7-2 run to take a double-digit lead of 74-64 with 3:23 remaining and the 'Cats never got closer than eight points the rest of the way as the Great Danes hit 9 of 10 free throws the rest of the way to keep the visitors at bay.

Leissner extended his school career records for both free throws made (500) and attempted (647).
