Stick it to Stigma
Sunday's matchup with Northeastern will be the 'Stick it to Stigma' mental health awareness and suicide prevention game. For the second straight season, UNH will be hosting the event at a home game with free tickets provided by the Benny Fund and Connor's Climb, two New Hampshire non-profits driven to promote mental health awareness and prevent suicide. Last season, 581 tickets were distributed as the Wildcats defeated Vermont 6-2. A post-game ceremony was held where UNH players auctioned off the special game-worn jerseys to raise money for the local charities.

Last Time Out:
After a 0-1-1 weekend to start the season, the Wildcats won their home and Hockey East opener against UConn by a final score of 5-3. The Wildcats found themselves leading, trailing and tied all in the first period as four goals were scored total; Nicole Dunbar (Coto de Caza, Calif.) started the scoring off to give the 'Cats a 1-0 lead, but a delayed-penalty goal and the enusing 4-on-4 allowed UConn to take a 2-1 lead. Tori Howran (Bancroft, Ontario) dangled the puck into the offensive zone on a pwoer play and back-handed a highlight reel goal off the crossbar and in to tie the game back up in the end of the period. The Wildcats would go on to take the lead in the second, and extend it in the third, only allowing one more UConn goal with an extra attacker in the third.
The Wildcats followed that up with a 3-2 loss at Boston University. The 'Cats found themselves down late in the game but a third-period goal by Dunbar cut the lead to one goal and gave UNH another chance, but they were held to just two goals in the contest.
