Croke Records Career-High Five Points in 10-7 Win at UMass Lowell

LOWELL, Mass. – Devon Croke (Norwell, Mass.) recorded four goals and an assist to lead the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team to Wednesday evening's 10-7 win against UMass Lowell at Cushing Field.
Croke's four goals matched a personal best and the five points established a career high. Four other Wildcats recorded multiple points as Krissy Schafer (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored two goals and Marissa Gurello (Manorville, N.Y.), Rylee Leonard (Coventry, R.I.) and Teagan Northrup (Longmeadow, Mass.) each tallied a goal and an assist.
Kate Clancy (Barrington, R.I.) made three of her four saves in the second half, when UNH went on a 6-0 run to take control of the game; Clancy was also credited with three ground balls. Cat Sennott (Westford, Mass.) led the defensive effort with four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
UMass Lowell was led by Jane Dudley (2g, 1a), Kendyl Finelli (2g) and Austin Trasatti (2g). Courtney Barrett stopped 12 shots and collected five ground balls.
UNH, which recorded a sizeable edge in both shots (29-12) and ground balls (23-13), won its second consecutive game to improve to 2-10 overall and 2-1 in America East. UMass Lowell is now 6-4, 0-2.

GAME RECAP
- UMass Lowell scored consecutive goals at 26:12 and 22:53 of the second half to take a 6-4 lead, but the Wildcats responded with six consecutive goals to surge in front, 10-6.
- Schafer finished a feed from Croke to trim the deficit to one goal at 20:01, then Michele Smith (Wantagh, N.Y.) scored her first career goal to tie the score, 6-6, at 17:58.
- Caroline Hernon (Hampton, N.H.) caused a turnover near midfield and advanced the ball behind the defenders to Croke, who beat Barnett in a 1v1 to give UNH its first lead of the game, 7-6, at 14:02.
- Carly Wooters (White Plains, N.Y.) slipped a pass from the top of the fan to Northrup, who turned and fired a shot into the cage for an 8-6 advantage at 11:39.
- The 'Cats converted another turnover into a quick counterattack goal at 9:09 when Leonard caused a turnover, picked up the ground ball and quickly found Croke low on the left side to increase the margin to 9-6.
- Leonard dodged through the middle of the fan to give UNH a 10-6 lead at 5:28.
- The River Hawks called a timeout and ended the six-goal run when Kaylan DiModugno scored at 4:15.
- Back in the first half, UMass Lowell opened up a 2-0 lead 2:13 into the game, but Croke responded with a free-position goal at 25:38.
- The River Hawks reestablished a two-goal advantage at 18:28 before New Hampshire rallied to tie the score on strikes by Croke and Gurello at 7:51 and 2:51, respectively.
- UMass Lowell scored with 39 seconds on the clock to take a 4-3 lead into halftime.
