Schafer Scores Three Goals in 18-8 Loss to Dartmouth

DURHAM, N.H. – Krissy Schafer (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored three goals for the second consecutive game, but the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team was defeated 18-10 by Dartmouth College at Wildcat Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
UNH moves to 0-2 on the season and Dartmouth remains unbeaten at 2-0.
Schafer led four Wildcats who recorded multiple points while goalkeeper Kate Clancy (Barrington, R.I.) made 10 saves, including seven in the first half.
Cara DePippo (4g, 2a), Courtney Weisse (3g, 3a), Elizabeth Mastrio (4g, 1a) and Kierra Sweeney (2g, 2a) led seven Big Green players who tallied multiple points. Kiera Vrindten was credited with nine saves.

GAME RECAP
- Dartmouth extended its 8-7 halftime lead to 12-7 five minutes into the second half and never looked back.
- UNH was held scoreless more than 20 minutes in the second half before Schafer finished a feed from Rebecca Sennott (Westford, Mass.) at 9:36 to trim the deficit to 14-8.
- The Big Green closed the game on a 4-0 run.
- In the first half, the visitors held a one-goal lead with a 22-16 shot advantage and 9-7 edge in draw controls.
- Neither team led by more than one goal in the first half until Dartmouth broke a 6-6 tie with consecutive goals by Campbell Brewer (at 2:48) and Ellie Carson (1:24).
