Pogue, 'Cats Make It 11 Straight Wins, 7-0 in America East

LOWELL, Mass. – Junior center Carlie Pogue (Cincinnati, Ohio) scored 23 points and helped keep the streaking University of New Hampshire women's basketball team on a roll Wednesday with a 76-57 matinee win over UMass Lowell at the Tsongas Center in Lowell.
The Wildcats extended their school record winning streak to 11 games and improved to 17-3 overall and 7-0 in the America East Conference. UNH owns its best-ever record through 20 games and is also off to a program-best start in league play.
The River Hawks fell to 3-18 and 0-8 in front of a Field Trip Day crowd of 4,192 made up of mostly school kids.
Senior Kristen Anderson (Greene, Maine) had a career-high 11 assists with one turnover.
Junior Kat Fogarty (Westminster, Mass.) had 16 points and six rebounds and junior Olivia Healy (Reading, Mass.) had 14 points and four rebounds for the Wildcats.
UP NEXT
The Wildcats return home to play UMBC on Saturday at noon for Youth Day. Players will be signing posters in the Lundholm lobby after the game.

HIGHLIGHTS
The Wildcats received contributions from throughout the lineup.
Anderson returned after missing two games with a concussion and came off the bench and helped run the offense. She leads America East and is second in the nation in assist/turnover ratio and improved her numbers with the 11-assist, one-turnover outing.
Junior forward Morgan Bassett-Smith (Pickerington, Ohio) scored a career-high nine points and had four rebounds in her 20 minutes.
Junior guard Peyton Booth (Wadsworth, Ohio) scored six points and had four rebounds. She took a pair of three-pointers in the third quarter and made them both.
Pogue, the reigning America East Player of the Week, made 11 of her 17 field goal attempts and Fogarty made seven of her 10.
The Wildcats made 33 of their 65 field goals (50.8 percent). It was the second game in a row and third time this year they have been over 50 percent from the floor.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Pogue opened the scoring with a bucket in the lane in the first minute of the game and ended the period with an 18-foot jump shot at the buzzer. She had 10 points in the period, helping the 'Cats to a 20-17 lead after one.
Pogue made five of her six shots and had half of the first period points.
UNH upped the lead to 34-26 at halftime.
Pogue had 14 points and three rebounds in the first half.
The Wildcats went on a 9-0 run starting just past the halfway point of the third period and had their lead up to 52-40 with one quarter to go.
Pogue and Fogarty each added nine points in the fourth when the visitors outscored the River Hawks 24-17 and pulled away.
