DeChent Named to America East All-Conference Second Team

BOSTON – Junior guard Eva DeChent (Westchester, N.Y.) of the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team was named to the America East All-Conference Second Team on Wednesday.
DeChent enters the postseason as the conference leader in steals (56) and tied for second in scoring (17.8 points per game). She is also atop the America East leaderboard in both free throws made (132) and attempted (162). Her other conference rankings include fourth in free throw percentage (81.5%), 10th in rebounding (5.5 per game) and 11th in blocks (0.7 per game).
DeChent is UNH's leader in 12 statistics, including scoring and rebounding. She is also the top 'Cat in minutes (32:42 per game), field goals made (177) and attempted (418), free throws made (132) and attempted (162), free throw percentage, offensive rebounds (1.3 per game), defensive rebounds (4.2 per game), steals (1.9 per game) and blocks (21). DeChent is second in 3-point field goals made with 29 -- one behind the leader.
UNH is the No. 7 seed in the Air Force Reserve 2026 America East Women's Basketball Playoffs and will play at second-seeded University of Maine in a March 5 (6pm) quarterfinal.
DeChent has scored 20+ points in a game 11 times this season. She matched her career high of 34 points vs. NJIT (Jan. 8) and netted 33 points at Central Connecticut State. DeChent has been UNH's leading scorer in 20 of 29 games and she has led the Wildcats in steals 14 times, rebounds and blocks 11 times, and assists 10 times.
This season, DeChent also recorded her first career double-double as well as personal bests in rebounds (11 vs. NJIT), assists (seven vs. Dartmouth on Dec. 20), steals (eight vs. New England College on Nov. 16) and blocks (four at Binghamton on Jan. 22).
DeChent has scored 515 points this season, which ranks No. 9 on UNH's list of single-season superlatives, and her 132 free throws is No. 6.
DeChent recorded a pair of career milestones in February. She scored career point 1,000 on Feb. 14 at UMBC and then netted her 1,000th point as a UNH Wildcat on Feb. 21 at Maine.
