UNH v BU GAME RECAP
- Lindsey Nerbonne (Bow, N.H.) scored her third goal of the tourney to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead at 8:40. Gianna Bensaia (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) struck a long entry into the circle from near midfield on the right side. Nerbonne charged through the circle and, with a diving effort, tipped the ball into the cage.
- BU quickly responded with two goals – Ally Hammel at 10:20 and Amanda Cassera at 12:54 – to take a 2-1 lead.
- Mendonca leveled the score, 2-2, at 16:52. She carried the ball from the top of the circle to the middle before blasting a reverse-stick shot that sailed into the top of the cage.
- The Terriers once again responded with consecutive goals to build a 4-2 advantage. Sara Martineau's pass from the middle of the circle found Kara Enoch deep on the right side at 28:50 for the visitor's third goal of the game. Amanda Cassera's stick-eye coordination produced the next goal, as she knocked a high ball in the middle of the circle down to Taylor Blood, who swept a shot inside the open right side of the cage at 33:56.
- BU took that two-goal lead and a 9-7 shot advantage into halftime.
- New Hampshire converted a penalty corner into a goal to trim the deficit to 4-3 at 47:44. Katie Audino (Severn, Md.) inserted a pass to the top of the circle to Bensaia, who stopped the ball for Mendonca's low, hard shot.
- BU goalkeeper Cammy Jensen, who made six saves vs. the UNH Wildcats and nine in Friday's 2-1 win against the Northwestern Wildcats, was named the tourney's Most Outstanding Player.
- Kelsey Rudert (North Grafton, Mass.) was credited with three saves.
