COACH'S QUIPS – UNH head coach Robin Balducci
"I was pretty pleased with our shots, with our possession time and opportunities. Both Dartmouth goalies played tough. They faced a lot of 1-on-1 situations. Dartmouth has very good players so they didn't need a lot of shots on the board to be dangerous. They're a good team, a tough team to play.
"I was pleased that we came away with the win because I feel like we had generated enough to win the game. That's the concern is that you create a lot of opportunities and then you drop the ball but we didn't do that."
FIRST QUARTER
- UNH recorded a 6-2 shot advantage in the first quarter but the score was tied 1-1 through 15 minutes.
- The Wildcats struck first when Poulakis entered at the top of the circle and continued to the middle, where Carlson attempted a sliding tackle. Poulakis pulled the ball back, however, and lifted a shot over Carlson and past a defender into the cage at 4:19.
- Dartmouth pulled even, 1-1, when Brosie finished a feed from Campano at 6:52.
SECOND QUARTER
- Defense dominated the second quarter with only one shot recorded by – UNH – and it was not on goal.
THIRD QUARTER
- The Big Green scored the only goal of the third quarter despite being outshot 5-2.
- Dartmouth took its first lead of the game, 2-1, on a penalty corner when Ella Bowman's shot from the top of the circle was redirect in by Campano at32:06.
FOURTH QUARTER
- UNH leveled the score, 2-2, by converting a corner into a goal with seven minutes remaining in regulation.
- MacNeil both started and ended the sequence on the corner. She inserted the ball to the top of the circle, where Tasmin Cookman (London, England) stopped the ball for Marlijn Swaan (Hilversum, Netherlands). Her rising shot hit Carlson's blocker and deflected high into the air toward the left post, where MacNeil batted the ball – now over her head – into the cage at 53:00.
FIRST OVERTIME
- UNH controlled possession a majority of the first 10-minute overtime session and recorded the only five shots.
- With 5:50 on the clock, Poulakis advanced past a defender on the right side and her shot was kicked aside by McKinley.
- With 4:30 remaining, Cookman also got bast a defender on the right side but McKinley charged and made the tackle to deny a shot.
- One minute later, Poulakis had another dangerous scoring chance denied by McKinley.
- UNH generated a corner with one minute on the clock but it did not produce a shot.
SECOND OVERTIME
- Knuttel scored on the first shot of the second OT to end the game at 73:00.
