Regular Season Concludes at Vermont Wednesday (7 PM), AE Playoffs to Follow

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team is set to travel to the University of Vermont for the final contest of the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. Wednesday's game will determine what seed the Wildcats obtain for the America East playoffs.
PLAYOFF PICTURE: The Wildcats, who are 12-5-0 overall and 4-2-0 in conference play have earned home-field advantage in either the quarterfinals or semifinals of the AE tournament. With a win on Wednesday, the Wildcats will receive a first-round bye and will host the semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Should the Wildcats play in the quarterfinals, the match would be Saturday, Nov. 5. The full AE standings can be found HERE. Information about the postseason can be found HERE.

SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIRE: The Wildcats are coming off of a 2-1 win over the University of Hartford on Saturday, Oct. 29 on the road. Sophomore Chris Arling (Windham, N.H.) scored goals in the third minute and in the 47th minute to give UNH a 2-0 advantage. Hartford got on the board in the 66th minute, but could not come back from the deficit.
Arling leads the team in goals with 14 and one assist for 29 points. His goal total has him tied for fourth in the nation. Wingate has 16 points on four goals and eight assists while freshman Jack Dickson (Bournemouth, England) has 13 points from five goals and three assists. Sophomore Alex Valencia (Tracy, Calif.) splits his nine points with three goals and three assists.
Junior goalkeeper Andrew Pesci (Windham, N.H) has played every minute of the 17 games that New Hampshire has played and has 12-5-0 record with five shutouts. He has a goal against average of 0.99 and a save percentage of 0.795.
SCOUTING VERMONT: The Catamounts (11-5-1, 3-3-0 AE) are coming off of a 3-0 win over University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Brian Wright scored two for the Catamounts in the 15th and the 80th minute, totaling nine goals for the season. Stefan Lamina scored his fourth goal of the season in the 82nd minute, making the score 3-0.
Vermont goalkeeper Aron Runarsson had two saves to post a shutout, his fourth of the season. He has played in 13 games this season with a save percentage of 0.690.
