'Cats Battle No. 14 UMass Lowell on Senior Night (Friday, 7 PM)

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team will host the 14th-ranked UMass Lowell River Hawks on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.
THANK YOU, SENIORS: Prior to Friday's kick off, a pregame ceremony will take place to recognize the seven seniors on the team for their contributions and commitment to the team over their careers here. Being recognized is Riley Ellis (Goffstown, N.H.), Karl Frisk (Molndal, Sweden), William Picoux (Lorient, France), Lalaina Randriamanantena (Auvergne, France), Will Szostkiewicz (Longmeadow, Mass.), and co-captains Duff Thomson (Greenfield, N.H.) and Chris Wingate (Hovik, Norway).
GIVEAWAY: Thundersticks will be given away prior to the game on Friday.
SCOUTING UNH: The Wildcats (10-4-0, 2-2-0 AE) are coming off a thrilling 2-1 overtime win at Binghamton University on Saturday, Oct. 15. After a scoreless first half, the Bearcats got on the board in the 61st minute of play. With just 41 seconds remaining, Picoux tied the game on a free kick from 20 yards out to force overtime at 1-1. In the 92nd minute of play, the nation's leading goal scorer, Chris Arling (Windham, N.H.), scored his 12th goal of the season to give the Wildcats the win.
Junior goalkeeper Andrew Pesci (Windham, N.H.) got his 10th win of the season in the match as he made five saves on six shots faced. His record now stands at 10-4-0 with five shutouts, a goals against average if 0.93 and a save percentage of .803.
SCOUTING UMASS LOWELL: The River Hawks come in at 10-0-2 overall and 3-0-1 in AE play and are ranked 14th nationally. They are coming off a 1-0 win over Stony Brook on Oct. 16 on the road. Ivan Abramovic scored his seventh goal of the season in the 23rd minute, which would ultimately prove to be the difference in the match. Keeper Austin Kroll made three saves on three shots faced for the shutout. His record improved to 10-0-2 with five shutouts, a goals against average of 0.55 and a save percentage of .829.
NEXT GAME: The 'Cats return to the pitch on Tuesday, Oct. 25 when they host Harvard University for the last home game of the regular season. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
