Women’s Cross Country Takes on the Region's Best at the NCAA Northeast Regionals (Nov. 13; 12 p.m.)

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's cross country team is headed to Boston to compete in the NCAA Regional Cross Country Championships on Friday, Nov. 13 (noon), at Franklin Park.
MEET DETAILS
The 6K race features 40 programs in the Northeast region. Each team can race seven student-athletes and the top-2 teams will compete at the NCAA Championships as well as the next top-4 individuals.
LAST TIME OUT FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE
New Hampshire finished first at the America East Championship on Saturday, Oct. 31, scoring 45 points as a group, for its third consecutive league title.
TOP SEVEN WILDCATS LAST TIME OUT
REGIONAL RANKINGS
New Hampshire was ranked sixth in the weekly USTFCCCA Northeast Regional poll, released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Nov. 2. The Wildcats placed sixth in this meet last year with a total of 183 points. Donegan, Short, Boden and Blais all return to the meet after competing a year ago.
NOT QUITE DONE
Senior Donegan enters her fifth race of the season, finishing second her last time out at the America East Championships (Oct. 31) with a time of 18 minutes, 9.70 seconds. Previously at Pre-Nationals (Oct. 17), Donegan ran a 20:29.60 time for 23rd place overall. At the Boston Coast-to-Coast meet (Sept. 25) she finished 17th in the 5k with a time of 17:28.00.
Fellow senior Short enters her fifth race of the season. She finished fourth at the America East Championships, wrapping up the race in 18:36.78. Short also finished 114th (21:12.6) at Pre-Nationals in Louisville, Ky.
The NCAA Regional Cross Country Championship will be Boden's sixth race of the year. Her last time out she placed fifth (18:54.19) at the conference championship. She finished 147th in Pre-Nationals with a 21:25.80 time in the 6k race. At the three-way meet against Holy Cross and Providence to start the season (Sept. 5), Boden finished eighth with a time of 18:22.40 for her best time in 5K competition.
Senior Blais is coming into her fifth race this season. Her best finish this season was seventh in the UNH, Providence, and Holy Cross tri-meet with a time of 18:05.10 in the 5K. Her last time out at the America East Championships she finished 13th (19:07.60).
YOUNG MURDOCK
Freshman Murdock is entering her sixth race of the season. She placed 23rd in the league championships with a time of 19:32.90 in the 5K race. Her best time at the 5K distance this season is 18:35.70 which was good for a 10th place at the UNH, Providence, and Holy Cross tri-meet.
JUST-IN-TIME JUNIORS
Juniors Szymanski and Keiran will both be entering their sixth races of the season when they compete at the NCAA Regionals. Szymanski and Keiran finished back to back at the America East championship with times of 19:23.38 (19th) and 19:24.08 (20th), respectively.
DUE NEXT
If New Hampshire qualifies for the NCAA Championship as the top-2 teams or the next four runners, they will compete Saturday, Nov. 21 in Louisville, Ky.
