Dylan Laube, a junior running back on the UNH football team, received the Service Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week award four times during the 2022 season; the four awards tied for the highest number of men's honors in the 2022-23 academic year. Here's a recap of Dylan's awards:
Sept. 12
Dylan received the first of his four Student-Athlete of the Week awards Sept. 12, when he was also named CAA Football co-Offensive Player of the Week.
Dylan carried UNH to a 28-23 road win against UAlbany on Sept. 10 that put the Wildcats atop the CAA standings at 2-0. He recorded career highs in rushes (32), rushing yards (202) and rushing touchdowns (three), and he also had a punt return for one yard to finish with 203 all-purpose yards.
The junior eclipsed 1,000 career rushing yards during his third career 100-yard rushing game and he also surpassed 3,000 career all-purpose yards.
Dylan became the first Wildcat to rush for 200 or more yards in a game since Sept. 22, 2012, when Nico Steriti had 21 carries for 201 yards and two rushing TDs. Laube's 202 rushing yards is the highest total by a 'Cat since UNH Hall of Fame inductee Jerry Azumah toted the ball 22 times for 259 yards against East Stroudsburg on Sept. 19, 1998.
Sept. 26
Dylan matched a school record with a 92-yard punt return for a touchdown and finished the game with 250 all-purpose yards to help the Wildcats improve to 3-0 in the CAA and 3-1 overall following a 37-14 victory against Towson University at Johnny Unitas Stadium on Sept. 24.
He was also named CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week in recognition of his record-tying punt return TD.
Nov. 7
Dylan recorded 169 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, including a 100-yard kickoff return, in the UNH football team's 40-34 loss to 14th-ranked University of Richmond on Nov. 5 at Robins Stadium.
His kickoff return TD tied the UNH record established by Dan Losano. Dylan also had a team-leading seven catches (for 40 yards).
Nov. 28
Dylan finished with a school-record 424 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns to lead UNH to a 52-42 victory against No. 16/13 Fordham University in an NCAA first-round game at Wildcat Stadium on Nov. 26.
He was named Performance Awards FCS National Performer of Week 13 for that record-breaking performance in the NCAA first round. He was the first non-quarterback to receive the award in the 2022 season.
His 424 all-purpose yards ranks third in CAA history as well as 11th in FCS history. He broke the program's previous benchmark of 364 set by Stephan Lewis vs. UMass on Oct. 13, 2001.
Laube rushed 29 times for 157 yards and three TDs, caught four passes for 127 yards and a touchdown, had five kickoff returns for 119 yards, and three punt returns for 21 yards. The three rushing touchdowns matched a personal best, with the four total TDs and 127 receiving yards both marking career highs.
