Matt Miller is in his second year with the UNH men’s basketball staff in the 2025-26 season.

Miller joined the Wildcats in June 2024 after coaching at Loyola University (Md.), where he spent the 2023-24 season. Prior to Loyola, Miller was an assistant at Mount St. Mary’s University for five seasons (2018-23) and helped lead the team to the NCAA tournament in 2021. Miller recruited and developed several All-Conference players and led the recruiting, scouting, defensive, and development efforts for the Mountaineers.

He also has collegiate coaching experience at Division II Shepherd University (Shepherdstown, W. Va.) as the top assistant, where Miller helped the Rams to a 20-10 campaign in 2013-14 – their best record in more than 20 years. In his role as recruiting coordinator, he led the efforts to bring two 1,500+ point scorers and three all-conference players to the school. Additionally, he served as an assistant coach at Division III Marymount University where he earned his graduate degree in education.

Miller attended Division III St. Mary’s College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree (2005) with a dual major in economics and public policy and was a three-year member of the men’s basketball team as well as a captain of the squad (2003-04). He won the Capital Athletic Conference’s Student-Athlete Award twice.
Miller has led three high school programs as head coach including stints at St. Maria Goretti High School (Md.), where he won 100 games in four years, won one Baltimore Catholic League title and three IPSL titles, and earned two Alhambra appearances while finishing 60-18 in his last two seasons. He also led Winston Churchill High School (Md.) for five seasons and they went 55-18 in his last three seasons while winning three straight division titles. Miller guided multiple student-athletes to Division I, DII, and DIII programs.
“Matt has become an integral part of the Wildcat basketball family,” UNH head coach Nathan Davis said. “His tremendous experience and knowledge is a huge advantage to our program and continues to be a great asset in helping develop our students-athletes both on and off the court.”
