Graham Scores Career-High 21 Points at Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior guard Jack Graham (Smithfield, R.I.) scored a career-high 21 points but the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was defeated 98-66 by Providence College on Tuesday night at Amica Mutual Pavillion.
Junior forward Belal El Shakery (Alexandria, Egypt) finished with 16 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Sophomore forward John Squire (Sausalito, Calif.) pulled down a career- and game-high 12 rebounds and scored six points.
Jason Edwards led five PC players in double digits with 25 points and Jaylin Sellers had 18.
UNH moved to 2-4 on the season while PC is now 3-2.

FIRST HALF
- Davide Poser (Veneto, Italy) drained a 3-pointer from the left corner to give the Wildcats a 3-0 lead at 18:44.
- The Friars went on a 9-0 run the next two minutes to take a lead they would not relinquish.
- PC extended the lead to 10 points, 21-11, at 10:56 but Graham hit a jumper in the point and Poser connected on another 3-pointer to trim the deficit in half, 21-16, at 9:48.
- With UNH trailing 25-18, Poser and Graham hit back-to-back 3-pointers to lift the 'Cats within one point, 25-24,
- A layup by El Shakery made it a one-point game for the fourth time, 32-31, but PC ended the quarter on a 6-0 run in the last minute to take a 38-31 lead into halftime.
SECOND HALF
- The Friars hit their first 10 shots of the second half, including four 3-pointers, to build a 67-44 lead at 13:20.
- UNH got no closer than 20 points the rest of the way.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- El Shakery, Tyler Bike (Merrimack, N.H.), Comeh Emuobor (Raleigh, N.C.) and R.J. Kennedy (Fayetteville, Ga.) tied for the team lead with three assists.
- El Shakerry also led the 'Cats with his two steals.
- Emuobor had a season-high seven rebounds.
INSIDE THE STATS
- Both teams had 14 offensive rebounds but UNH recorded a 17-10 advantage in second-chance points.
- PC scored 60 second-half points on the strength of shooting 66.7% (22-33) from the floor.
