Kennedy Scores Career-High 16 Points in 97-69 Win vs. Emmanuel

DURHAM, N.H. – Junior forward Belal El Shakery (Alexandria, Egypt) recorded a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team to Wednesday night's 97-69 victory against Emmanuel College at Lundholm Gym.
El Shakery matched his career high of 12 rebounds in recording his second double-double of the season. He was also credited with three assists, a steal and a block.
Redshirt freshman R.J. Kennedy (Fayetteville, Ga.) finished with career highs of 16 points and three assists in his first career start. Junior guard Jack Graham (Smithfield, R.I.) was the third Wildcat who scored in double figures with 12 points; he also posted personal bests of six rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
Danny Adams scored 18 points to lead three Emmanuel players in double digits.
UNH leveled its record at 2-2.

FIRST HALF
- Davide Poser (Veneto, Italy) hit a 3-pointer to give at 18:33 to give New Hampshire a 3-0 lead and the 'Cats led wire-to-wire.
- Bike hit a 3-pointer at 10:46 and Kennedy connected from beyond the 3-point arc at 9:34 to give UNH its first double-digit lead of the game, 21-10.
- Adam's driving layup lifted the Saints within 27-17 at 6:46, but the Wildcats went on a 13-2 run to built a 21-point lead, 40-19, at 3:25. El Shakery ignited the spurt with layups at 6:36 and 5:40.
- An El Shakery steal led to Graham's transition layup and UNH's largest lead of the first half – 23 points (46-23) – with 1:50 on the clock.
- Kennedy's layup in the closing seconds sent the 'Cats into the locker room with a 51-29 advantage
- Kennedy (13), El Shakery (10) and Graham (10) all scored in double digits in the first half.
SECOND HALF
- The margin fluctuated in the low 20s until a 9-0 run pushed UNH's lead to 75-44 at 9:33
- Emmanuel never got closer than 25 points the rest of the way.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- El Shakery was an efficient 5-for-9 from the floor and made 6 of 7 free throws.
- Freshman guard Tyler Bike (Merrimack, N.H.) set career highs of eight points and four assists.
- Freshman forward Giannos Xanthopoulos (Zografou, Greece) was 4-for-5 from the floor and hit both foul shots to finish with a career-high 10 points. He also pulled down six rebounds and blocked two shots.
- UNH had a .607 field goal percentage (17 of 28) in the first half and finished with a .517 percentage (31-60).
