Ski in Second Following Third Day at Colby Carnival

The men’s team finished the day in eighth while the women closed out in third.

WATERVILLE, MAINE — Senior Hattie Barker (Underhill, Vt.) and sophomore Natalie Nicholas (Bozeman, Mont.) finished fourth and fifth overall in the women's freestyle 20k race, skiing in 1:04:16.9 and 1:04:18.6 times, respectively, while Galen Grohusky (Hailey, Idaho) (59:27.4) finished 28^th in the men's freestyle 20k race, headlining the University of New Hampshire's Nordic ski team's first day at the Colby Carnival.

Following the 20k freestyle races, the men's team finished the day in eighth place with 49 points while the women's team closed out the day third place with 109 points, trailing Vermont in first place with 111 points and Middlebury in second place with 110 points. Overall, the Wildcats sit in second place with 564.5 points going into the final day of the Colby Carnival.
