Buckrell Finishes Second, Ski Finishes Third Overall in St. Lawrence Carnival

Jayden Buckrell skied a 1:27.27 time, giving the sophomore his third podium of the season.

WILMINGTON, N.Y. — Sophomore Jayden Buckrell (Collingwood, Ontario) finished second overall in the men's slalom event, skiing in 43.67 and 43.60 runs for a 1:27.27 finish, while Hedda Martelleur (Uppsala, Sweden) finished fifth overall in the women's slalom (47.01, 47.80; 1:34.81), headlining the University of New Hampshire's Alpine ski team's closing day in the St. Lawrence Carnival.

Following the slalom, the men's team finished the day in fourth place with 90 points, trailing Dartmouth in first place with 118 points, Vermont in second place with 116 points, and Middlebury in third place with 93 points, while the women's team closed out the day in third place with 98 points, trailing Vermont in first place with 128 points and Dartmouth in second place with 109 points. Overall, the Wildcats finished the St. Lawrence Carnival in third place with 762.5 points, behind carnival-leading Dartmouth with 873 points and Vermont with 869 points.
