Martinez denied 29-of-30 shots faced in UNH’s upset over No. 11 Brown
AMESBURY, Mass. — University of New Hampshire junior goaltender Noemi Martinez (Glen Ridge, N.J.) was named Hockey East Army ROTC Defender of the Week on Monday (Dec. 1).
Martinez was an anchor between the pipes for the Wildcats in their 4-1 upset win over No. 11 Brown University on Sunday (Nov. 30), denying 29-of-30 shots faced, including a season-high 13 saves in the opening frame. With the win, Martinez improved to 4-2-0 on the season after posting a .967 save percentage.
With the award, Martinez becomes the sixth winner of a weekly award this season, joining Nina Rossi (Pittsgrove, N.J.) (Oct. 6, Nov. 10), Addison Spitz (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) (Nov. 3), Josie Linn (Excelsior, Minn.) (Nov. 3), and Aurora Kahlert (Maple Ridge, British Columbia) (Oct. 13).

The Wildcats return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 2, when UNH travels to Boston to take on No. 7 Northeastern (13-3-0, 9-0-0 HEA) for a 6pm puck drop at Matthews Arena.
