'Cats Remain Undefeated with Tie Against UConn

STORRS, Conn. - The University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team secured a 150-150 tie against the University of Connecticut on Friday afternoon at Wolff-Zackin Natatorium.
"It was a great effort today," Head Coach Josh Willman said. "The team was determined to keep our undefeated streak alive, and I am incredibly proud of how we competed."
The Wildcats remain undefeated at 6-0-1 (1-0 America East), while the Huskies move to 5-2-1 (1-1 Big East)

- The Wildcats opened the meet with a victory in the 400-yard medley relay, as freshman Amelia Labno (Rosemount, Minn.), sophomore Emily Wright (Ventura, Calif.), sophomore Grace Mahon (Orange, Conn.), and junior Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) combined for a time of 3:49.32.
- Freshman Lydia Hart (Cornwall, ON, Canada) continued her dominant freshman campaign, winning three individual events. She won the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:15.63 and immediately followed up with a back-to-back win in the 200 freestyle (1:53.51).
- Hart later claimed victory in the 500 freestyle as well (4:58.73), remaining undefeated in the event this season.
- Mahon excelled in the butterfly events, claiming victories in the 100 (55.76) and 200 (2:03.02).
- Mahoney added wins in the 50 freestyle (23.48) and 100 freestyle (51.83), solidifying her reputation as one of the top sprinters in the region.
- Labno won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:03.95, while freshman Lily Jackson-Oates secured her first collegiate victory in the 200 breaststroke, coming from behind to win in 2:20.38.
