‘Cats Defeat Maine 166-91 to Conclude Dual Meet Season Unbeaten

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team defeated Maine, 166-91, in the Border Battle presented by Buffalo Wild Wings on Friday evening at Swasey Pool.
"It was a great meet to celebrate the senior class and finish out the dual meet season," said Head Coach Josh Willman. "We are looking forward to gearing up for championships."
The Wildcats, who won 13 of the 16 events, conclude the regular season unbeaten at 7-0-1 (2-0 America East), while the Black Bears fall to 0-3 (0-2).
Before the meet, UNH honored its seven seniors: Emma Clarke (Avon, N.Y.), Annie Jencova (Waikanae, New Zealand), Megumi Komoto (Schaumburg, Ill.), Ana O'Neil (St. Paul, Minn.), Chiara Maria Pradissitto (Milan, Italy), Grace Sala (Sun Prairie, Wis.), and Sydney Stockwell ((Hopkinton, N.H.).
This accomplished group has combined for 20 conference championship finalists, eight conference event champions, nine All-America East honors, and 16 America East Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll selections. They are also members of two America East Swimming and Diving Team Championships.

- UNH will return to action at the America East Championships at VMI Aquatic Center in Lexington, Va., from Feb. 19-22. Last season, New Hampshire placed second in the America East Championship. The Wildcats have a league-record 11 championships (1998, 1999, 2005, 2006, 2013, 2014, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023).

- The Wildcats opened the meet with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay, as Stockwell, sophomore Emily Wright (Ventura, Calif.), sophomore Grace Mahon (Orange, Conn.), and junior Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) finished in 1:46.99.
- Sophomore Jessica Briers (St. Louis, Mo.) claimed victory in the 500 freestyle, finishing in 5:10.77.
- Freshman Lydia Hart (Cornwall, ON, Canada) earned first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:55.24.
- Jencova took the 100 backstroke in 58.31 seconds.
- Freshman Lily Jackson-Oates (Redhill, England) secured wins in both the 100 breastroke (1:06.70) and 200 breaststroke (2:20.49).
- Mahon added victories in the 100 butterfly (55.73 seconds) and the 200 freestyle (1:56.94).
- Sophomore Grace Blume (Dedham, Mass.) swept the diving events, scoring 272.55 in the 1-meter dive and 286.95 in the 3-meter.
- Freshman Amelia Labno (Rosemount, Minn.) claimed the 100 freestyle in 54.18 seconds.
- Freshman Teagen Jeffers (Bedford, N.H.) won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:05.58.
- Freshman Marisa White (Apex, N.C.) secured the 500 freestyle in 5:07.54.
