Wildcats in Fourth After Day Two of SLU Carnival

WILMINGTON, N.Y. – The University of New Hampshire ski team wrapped up the second day of the St. Lawrence Carnival with alpine events continuing at Whiteface Mountain and Nordic competition beginning at Mt. Van Hoevenberg.
UNH is in fourth place with 542.5 points after two days, trailing Middlebury (581), Vermont (581), and Dartmouth (694.5)
Nordic opened its competition with a 20K skate. Graduate student Jasmine Lyons (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) and freshman Clara Hegan (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) led the Wildcats with seventh (54:44.90) and eighth place (54:46.20) finishes, earning a combined 72 points.
Junior Hattie Barker (Underhill, Vt.) added 31 points, clocking in at 55:02.10 for 11th place, while freshman Alexandra Luxmoore (Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada) finished in 21st (56:59.60).
For the men, graduate student Charles Martell (Exeter, N.H.) secured 16th place in 49:03.80, earning 26 points. Senior Roger Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) finished 18th (49:11.80) for 25 points, while senior Eli Gore (Madison, Wis.) added 23 points with a 20th-place finish (49:22.20).
In the alpine slalom, junior Tilde Kandell (Leksand, Sweden) led the UNH women with a 13th-place finish (1:38.73), contributing 27 points. Junior Hedda Martelleur (Uppsala, Sweden) added 21 points with a 22nd-place result (1:39.43), and senior Zoe Michael (Sydney, Australia) earned 9 points in 25th (1:39.79).
Freshman Jayden Buckrell (Collingwood, Ontario, Canada) paced the men with a sixth-place finish in 1:34.26, earning 37 points. Junior Isac Hedstrom (Are, Sweden) followed in eighth (1:34.37) for 33 points, while graduate student Hayden Dahl (Plymouth, N.H.) placed 12th (1:34.64) to add 20 points.
Freshman Hunter Roach (Vail, Colo.) placed 19th with a time of 1:35.01, while graduate student Robert Underhill (Newbury, N.H.) secured 22nd in 1:35.30.
