DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has announced the addition of junior forward Diogo Baptista (Mountain View, Calif.) to the 2025 roster. Baptista, who is a transfer from San Jose State, will join the team this spring.
"Diogo is a left sided attacking player coming to us from California where he has 50 Division I games under his belt," said head coach Rich Weinrebe. "He's technically smooth, can play in multiple positions, and is excited to get out of his comfort zone and take on a new challenge on the other side of the country. We are looking forward to working with him this spring, and we're looking forward to his impact."
Baptista posted three goals and one assist for seven points during the 2024 season at San Jose State. He tied for second on the team in goals and was third in points, while his two game-winning goals were second. Baptista appeared in all 21 games with 20 starts.
During the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Baptista was a member of the men's soccer team at UC Riverside where he recorded three goals and two assists for eight points over two seasons. He played in 29 games with 12 starts.
Baptista played at Mountain View High School and at the club level in the San Jose Earthquakes' academy. He appeared in four matches for Earthquakes 2, San Jose's MLSNEXTPro team.
He graduated from Mountain View High School in 2022.
The Wildcats concluded the season with a 7-3-7 overall record and a 4-1-2 mark in the conference. UNH won its sixth straight regular season championship. This was the first time in conference history that a team has won six straight.
The 2025 Spring season schedule will be announced at a later date.
