UNH Picked Fourth in Hockey East Women's Preseason Poll

AMESBURY, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire women's hockey team, led by 11th-year head coach Hilary Witt, was picked fourth in the Hockey East Women's League Preseason Poll that was released Monday.
UNH, which finished third in the final 2024 Army ROTC Hockey East standings, received 62 points in this year's preseason poll to rank behind UConn (89 points; eight first-place votes), Northeastern University (81; two) and Boston College (73).
In the 10-team league, the Wildcats are followed by Providence College (55), Boston University (52), University of Vermont (47), University of Maine (36), Merrimack College (25) and College of the Holy Cross (20).
The Wildcats play an exhibition game against the University of Maine on Sept. 22 (4 p.m.) at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex. UNH opens the season with an Oct. 4 home game against Assumption University at 6 p.m.

New Hampshire returns 15 letterwinners, including four of the top point scorers and three of the top four goal scorers for last season, as well as a goalie who started every game. The 'Cats also welcome 10 newcomers with a breakdown of three grad students and seven freshmen.
