Eleven 'Cats Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team was named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for the 2023-24 academic year and 11 Wildcats were named to the 2024 IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. A team must have posted a 3.20 or higher GPA for the 2023-24 academic year to qualify for the prestigious Academic Honor Squad distinction.
Grad students Jesslyn Hounchell (Cornwall, Vt.) and Ava Schroeder (Niskayuna, N.Y.) were honored for the third consecutive year and classmate Katie Taranto (Brewster, N.Y.) was recognized for the second time in as many years.
Seniors Julia Lucey (Topsfield, Mass), Mackenzie MacEachern (Bedford, N.H.), Payton Maddaloni (Mattituck, N.Y.) and Olivia O'Connor (Hopkinton, Mass.) all made the Academic Honor Roll for the second straight year.
Grad students Liv Dunn (Newbury, Mass.) and Izzy Holmes (Seattle, Wash.) were both honored for the first time, while juniors Maria Hagan (Downers Grove, Ill.) and Abby Hawkes (Amherst, N.H.) earned the accolade in their first year of eligibility.
UNH earned recognition as an Academic Honor Squad by recording a 3.52 team GPA in the 2023-24 academic year. The Wildcats recorded a 3.51 team GPA during competition season this past spring to nearly equal the impressive 3.52 in Fall 2023.
