Daniels Receives All-District First Team Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Senior forward Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) of the men's basketball team has been named All-District First Team. The National Association of Basketball Coaches made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier in the month, Daniels was named the America East Player of the Year and was placed on First Team All-Conference. Daniels started in every game for the Wildcats in the regular season and post season. He led the team and conference in scoring for the duration of the season, ending the regular season averaging 19.6 points per game. He remained in the top three for rebounding per game, averaging 9.3 after the final regular season game. Daniels consistently led the team and remained in the top three in the conference for free throw percentage as well, finishing at .801. Daniels also recorded a team leading 12 double doubles in the regular season and added two in the America East quarterfinal and semifinal for a total of 14.
The Wildcats ended the regular season with a 15-14 overall record, 7-9 in conference. Within that, first year Head Coach Nathan Davis led the Wildcats to an undefeated home non-conference schedule. The 'Cats beat Binghamton in the America East quarterfinals in front of a packed Lundholm Gym. UNH advanced to the semifinals for the second consecutive season where they fell to the eventual America East champion, Vermont.
