FIRST PERIOD
- Both teams scored a goal in the first seven minutes and then in the last seven minutes of the first period.
- Truter quickly gave UNH a 1-0 lead 34 seconds into the game. She corralled the puck in the defensive zone and advanced ahead of the UVM defense down the right wing. Her initial shot was stopped by Gervais, but Truter lifted the rebound under the crossbar for the goal. Alvarez, who cleared the puck from the front of UNH's net, was credited with the assist.
- Kokavec tied the score at 6:38 and Evelyne Blais-Savoie struck at 13:23 to give the visitors a 2-1 lead.
- Calderone leveled the score, 2-2, with a power-play goal at 18:21. Alyson Hush (Scarborough, Ontario) won the puck on the right half-boards back to Calderone, who advanced down the slot and wristed a shot from between the circles inside the right post.
SECOND PERIOD
- The teams combined to score three more goals in the opening five minutes of the second stanza to push the score to 4-3 in favor of Vermont.
- Brochu scored 47 seconds after play resumed to put UVM back in front, 3-2.
- At the left doorstep, Rodgers lifted UNH into a 3-3 tie at 2:21 when she jammed a rebound between Gervais' legs. Charlie Rauch (Ramsey, N.J.), with the initial shot from the left circle, and Alvarez set up the goal.
- Nelles scored what proved to be the game-winning goal and last goal of the game when she gave the Catamounts a 4-3 lead at 4:50.
THIRD PERIOD
- New Hampshire recorded a 12-1 shot advantage in the final frame and that did not even include a pair of shots that rang off the left post in the 14th minute.
- Sydney Leonard (St. Bonifacius, Minn.) fired a low shot from the left circle past Gervais but the puck ricocheted off the near post at 13:04. UNH cycled the puck back to the top and Maddie Crowley-Cahill (Haverhill, Mass.) ripped a shot that rang off the left post at 13:12.
- UNH continued to pressure, but Crowley-Cahill was denied by Gervais as 13:19 and Leonard's shot off the rebound was also turned aside.
- Blair was pulled in favor of an extra skater at 17:57, but she had to reenter the game when the Wildcats were whistled for a penalty at 18:43.
- Blair returned to the bench at 19:02.
- With 20 seconds on the clock, Verrier led a 2-on-1 rush down the right wing and her centering pass through the low slot barely missed the stick of Kira Juodikis (LaSalle, Ontario) cutting down the slot and the puck went wide of the left post.
- With 12.8 seconds remaining, UVM won a faceoff in its defensive zone and cleared the puck to the neutral zone to secure the win.
