DANBURY, Conn. – Marc Hubbard was named the ECAC coach of the Year, while graduate student Cameron Briggs (Oconomowoc, Wis.), senior midfielder Yannick Bright (Milan, Italy) and graduate student goalkeeper Joseba Incera (Santurtzi, Spain) of the University of New Hampshire men's soccer program were named to the All-ECAC team. Briggs was selected to the first team, and Bright and Incera were picked to the second team.
This is the fourth time that Hubbard has earned this honor as he previously won in 2019, 2021 and 2022. The Wildcat Coaching Staff was also named the Northeast Region and America East Coaching Staff of the Year this season.
Briggs won the America East Defender of the Year and earned All-Conference First Team accolades. He played 19 games with 19 starts. He was a member of a defense that was third in the nation with a 0.643 goal against average.
Bright was just recently named First Team All-American and is the first player in program history to be a three-time All-American. He won his third straight America East Midfielder of the Year Award this season.
Incera was the first goalkeeper in program history to be an All-American as he was selected to the Third Team. He ranked fourth in the nation with a 0.585 goals against average. Incera was named the 2023 America East Goalkeeper of the Year and earned First Team All-Conference accolades.
The Wildcats concluded another outstanding season posting a 13-3-4 record (4-0-3 AE) and advancing to the Round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the third time in program history. UNH was the No. 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament which was the highest seed in program history. The Wildcats defeated defending national champions Syracuse, 3-0, in the second round and then fell to No. 9 seed and eventual national champions Clemson, 1-0, in the first-ever Round of 16 game played at Wildcat Stadium.
UNH appeared in the NCAA Tournament for the seventh straight season as only four teams have made the NCAA Tournament seven consecutive seasons from 2017-23 (UNH, Indiana, Wake Forest and Georgetown).
The 'Cats won the America East Regular Season Championship for the fifth straight season and are only the second program to win five consecutive titles. UNH's 0.643 team goals against average ranked third in the nation, while its .750 winning percentage was ninth nationally.
