Five Wildcats Receive America East Conference Awards

BOSTON – Five different Wildcats from the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team were given 10 America East awards on Tuesday afternoon. The awards consisted of the All-Conference First and Second Team, All-Rookie Team, and All-Academic Team. The awards are highlighted by the Defender of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year.

Kelly was named the America East Defender of the Year, the first Wildcat to earn the honor. Kelly led the team in minutes played this past season with 1427, only missing 13 minutes the entire season. She buried one goal and two assists for four points. Her goal came on Senior Day when she scored from 40 yards out off a free kick which turned out to be the game-winning goal. Kelly was a vital part of the Wildcat defense that led the conference in goals per game with 0.67.

Rainey was named the America East Goalkeeper of the Year, the third in program history. The goalkeeper played and started in every game for the Wildcats this season. She compiled 70 saves in net and had six wins on the season. She played a total of 1424 minutes for UNH and was a vital part of the team's success this year. She led the league in GAA (375) and save percentage (.927). Throughout the season, she posted eight shut outs for the 'Cats, five of which were against America East opponents. Her five shutouts against league foes topped the league in that stat.
In addition to the major awards, Kelly and Rainey both received All-Conference First Team recognition for their outstanding play in the 2023 season.

Junior midfielder Meghan Guarente (Sewell, N.J.) and senior midfielder Ella Dudley (St. Augustine, Fla.) made Second Team All-Conference. Guarente tallied 1335 minutes for the Wildcats starting in every game this season. She recorded five goals and five assists, which led the team with 15 points. Out of her five goals, two were game-winning. Dudley played and started in 15 games for the Wildcats. She recorded a goal and an assist for UNH and registered 1312 minutes.

Freshman forward Greta Caulton (Amherst, N.H.) received All-Rookie recognition. Caulton led the freshman class in minutes played with 692. Notching one goal and one assist for four points, she was a major contributor to the Wildcat offense this season. She played a role in multiple goals and turnovers for UNH.

Guarente, senior back captain Alivia Kelly (Pembroke, Mass.), and red shirt sophomore goalkeeper captain Sally Rainey (West Lebanon, N.H.) all received All-Academic recognition in addition to their athletic achievements. Guarente holds a 3.85 GPA as a nursing major, and this is her second time on the All-Academic Team. Kelly majors in neuroscience & behavior and has a 3.82 GPA. This is also her second time receiving the recognition; she is also a member of the National College Athlete Honor Society. Rainey is a Communication Sciences & Disorders major with a 3.83 GPA. This is her first time being named to the All-Academic Team.
