Bella Stuart notched a career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Sophomore guard Bella Stuart (Clifton Park, N.Y.) contributed career- high totals in points (16) and rebounds (10), but the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team came up just short and lost at Vermont, 61-58, on Wednesday night.
UNH had its two-game winning streak snapped and fell to 6-18 overall and 3-10 in America East play.
The Wildcats have just three games remaining in the regular season, starting with Senior Day against UAlbany in Lundholm Gymnasium on Saturday at 1 p.m.
They are back in Lundholm on Saturday, February 19 to play UAlbany at 1 p.m. on Senior Day on ESPN3.

Down 54-40 with just under four minutes to play, the Wildcats made a late run at the Catamounts.
UNH chipped away at the lead and senior guard Sophia Widmeyer's putback of her own miss with 19 seconds left cut the lead to 58-56. Stuart cut it to 59-58 with 13 seconds to go.
Vermont's Sarah Wells closed things out with a pair of free throws.
Junior guard Brooke Kane (Derry, N.H.) had 10 points and a couple of steals for the Wildcats and another junior guard, Helena Delaruelle (Enghien-Les-Bains, France), had nine points and seven rebounds. Widmeyer and senior forward Ivy Gogolin each added eight points.
Vermont improved to 16-10 overall and 10-5 in America East.
Emma Utterback led the Catamounts with 24 points, Delaney Richason had 15 and Anna Olson 11.
