DURHAM, N.H. -- Graduate student guard Amanda Torres (Hudson, N.H.) scored 15 points for the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team in the 55-46 loss to UAlbany in America East play on Senior Day from Lundholm Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats fall to 6-9 overall (3-11 AE), while the Great Danes improve to 19-8 overall (12-4 AE).
Freshman forward Talia Davis (Dedham, Mass.) added eight points on 4-of-5 from the field, while guard Sophia Widmeyer (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) chipped in with six points.
Helene Haegerstrand totaled a game-high 18 points in the victory for UAlbany.
The Wildcats shot a game-high 42% in the third stanza on 5-of-12 shooting. UNH trailed UAlbany, 27-17 at halftime.
UNH honored its five-player senior class in a pre-game ceremony, which included Faith Bonett, Kali Grimm, Ivy Gogolin, Sarah Serbascewicz and Amanda Torres.
The 'Cats return to action for the regular-season home finale on Wednesday, February 23 against NJIT. Game time is 6 p.m. from Lundholm Gymnasium.
