Bombito Named to 2023 MLS Generation adidas Class; Watch Party Scheduled for Wednesday

Bombito is first player in program history to be a member of the Generation adidas class.
NEW YORK – Junior back Moise Bombito (Montreal, Quebec) of the University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has been named to the 2023 Major League Soccer Generation adidas class. Bombito is the first student-athlete in program history to be a member of the Generation adidas class.
Bombito is now eligible to be selected in MLS SuperDraft 2023 on Wednesday, Dec. 21 starting at 5 p.m. SuperDraft coverage begins at 4:30 p.m. on MLSSoccer.com, the MLS App, Twitter, YouTube, Twitch and Facebook.
UNH will hold a watch party in the Service Credit Union Victory Club on the third floor of Wildcat Stadium from 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m. on Wednesday. The watch party is open to the public.
"We are very proud of Moise and what he's been able to accomplish in such a short period of time here at UNH," said head coach Marc Hubbard. "The moment he stepped on the field this season he changed our fortune and led us to another two titles. This is the first GA contract in our programs history and we look forward to celebrating with Moise this Wednesday during the draft to figure out where he will play next in his career."
Generation adidas is a joint program between MLS and adidas that sees a handful of top collegiate underclassmen and youth national team players signed by MLS to Generation adidas contracts and made available in the SuperDraft.
Throughout the program's history, Generation adidas players have made a significant impact in MLS and on the international stage. Seven players at the 2022 FIFA World Cup began their MLS careers through the Generation adidas program, including U.S. Men's National Team members Sean Johnson (No. 51 overall selection, 2010 SuperDraft), Cristian Roldan (No. 16, 2015) and Walker Zimmerman (No. 7, 2013), as well as Canadian National Team players Tajon Buchanan (No. 9, 2019), Cyle Larin (No. 1, 2015), Richie Laryea (No. 7, 2016) and Dayne St. Clair (No. 7, 2019).
Along with Bombito the 2023 Generation adidas is class: Joey Akpunonu (Bowling Green State), Joshua Bolma (Maryland), C.J. Fodrey (San Diego State), Shakur Mohammed (Duke), Owen O'Malley (Creighton), Ilijah Paul (Washington) and Joey Skinner (Clemson).
Bombito had an outstanding season for the Wildcats as he was named a second team All-American and was a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, while he recently attended the MLS College Showcase. He won the 2022 America East and ECAC Defender of the Year Awards and earned first team All-America East and ECAC accolades. He tied for third on the team with four goals and tied for second with two game winners. Bombito led a defense that was third in the nation with a 0.500 team goals against average. Prior to competing for the Wildcats, he earned 2021 All-America accolades at Iowa Western Community College.
UNH went 15-4-1 (.775) overall in the 2022 season and was ranked No. 21 in the final United Soccer Coaches National Poll. The Wildcats were 6-1-0 in America East earning the regular season championship for the fourth straight season and their fifth regular season championship in program history. UNH then won its fourth America East Tournament championship and made its seventh NCAA Tournament appearance and sixth straight. The Wildcats defeated Seton Hall, 2-1, in the first round at Wildcat Stadium and then tied No. 10 seed Florida International, 2-2, in the second round but lost the 12 round-shootout 10-9.
The Wildcats posted 11 shutouts and outscored the opposition, 38-12. UNH's .590 team goals against average was ranked third in the nation and its .550 shutout percentage was sixth.
