Zachary Astle Earns Three Medals At New Englands; Three Wildcats Compete at ECACs

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The University of New Hampshire men's track and field team competed at the IC4A/ECAC Championships and the New England Championships on Saturday.
Graduate student Zachary Astle (Newbury, N.H.) won a total of three medals at the New England Championships. He won a silver in the hammer throw on Friday, while he won a silver in the shot put and a bronze in the discus throw on Saturday.
Freshman Joshua Hoffman (Litchfield, N.H.) and sophomore Aidan O'Hern (Concord, N.H.) each won a silver medal. Hoffman placed second in the discus throw and O'Hern in the 1,500 meters.
The Wildcats placed fifth out of 29 teams at the New England Championships with 47 points. Rhode Island won with 203.83 points.

Junior Nate Hobbs (Peabody, Mass.) placed fifth in the long jump with a distance of 23'6.25"
800 METERS
Senior James Wilkes (Concord, N.H.) was fourth with a career-best time of 1:49.63.
STEEPLECHASE
Senior Aidan Sullivan (Nashua, N.H.) placed 10th with a time of 9:23.74.

DISCUS THROW
Hoffman won a silver medal with a throw of 156'1", while Astle picked up his second medal of the competition with a throw of 155'8" to secure a bronze.
SHOT PUT
Astle won his third medal with a silver on a throw of 55'0.25".
1500 METERS
O'Hern earned a silver medal with a career-best time of 3:50.74.
DECATHLON
Junior Brian Genet (Merrimack, N.H.) placed sixth in the decathlon with 759 points. His top event with the 1,500 meters as he was fourth with a time of 4:55.68.
STEEPLECHASE
Junior Andrew LePage (Morrisonville, N.Y.) placed seventh with a time of 9:53.99.
800 METERS
Sophomore Dillon Adamy (Clinton, N.J.) placed ninth with a career-best time of 1:53.63, while sophomore Kenney McElroy (West Linn, Ore.) was 10th with a time of 1:53.91.
