Wildcats drop series finale at UMass Lowell

Amanda Torres and Ivy Gogolin register 12 and 11 points for the Wildcats, respectively
LOWELL, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team dropped its series finale at UMass Lowell, 73-52, on Sunday afternoon at Costello Athletic Center in America East Conference action.
Senior guard Amanda Torres (Hudson, N.H.) led the way for the Wildcat offense with 12 points in a game-high 37 minutes of action on 4-of-7 shooting and five rebounds.
Junior forward Ivy Gogolin (Hopkinton, Mass.) totaled 11 points in the contest for UNH, which included a game-high 10 points in the first half on 4-of-5 from the field
Junior guard Mariah Gonzalez (Watkins Glen, N.Y.) finished the day with eight points for the Wildcats in the losing effort with a 3-for-6 effort from the field and 2-for-3 from three-point arc.
Sophomore guard Héléna Delaruelle (Enghien-Les-Bains, France) chipped in with five points (2-of-4 FG), five assists and three rebounds.
UMass Lowell's Denise Solis finished the contest with a game-high 20 points on 8-of-12 from the field and five rebounds. Kaylen Banwareesingh scored 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting and six boards in the victory for the River Hawks.
UNH falls to 5-13 overall (5-10 AEC) after the loss, while UMass Lowell improves its overall record to 11-8 and 10-6 in AEC action.

Ivy Gogolin opened the scoring in the game to give the Wildcats an early 2-0 lead in the first quarter. She scored the first six points in the game for UNH, all of which came in the paint.
The Wildcats shot 6-for-8 from the field in the first quarter, but just 3-for-16 in the second quarter.
Ivy Gogolin posted a team-high eight points on 3-of-3 shooting in the first frame, while Amanda Torres chipped in with seven points on two three-point field goals in the opening stanza.
UNH led UMass Lowell, 18-14 at the end of the first quarter
Gogolin notched a game-high 10 points in the first half in just eight minutes played, which accounted for eight of 14 UNH's points in the paint.
The Wildcats trailed the River Hawks, 33-26 at halftime.

The 'Cats shot 6-for-10 from the field in the third quarter.
Mariah Gonzalez led all scorers in the second half for the Wildcats with six points on two three-pointers.
UNH registered four of its six three-point field goals in the second half.
