Jacob Gould Wins America East Offensive Player of the Week Accolades

BOSTON – Graduate student Jacob Gould (Exeter, N.H.) of the No. 6 University of New Hampshire men's soccer team (11-0-0, 3-0-0 AE) has earned his first career America East Weekly accolade as he was named the Offensive Player of the Week. The Wildcats went 2-0-0 on the week outscoring the opposition, 6-1, with a 3-1 win versus Harvard (Sept. 28) and a 3-0 win versus NJIT (Oct. 1).

Gould scored two goals on the week. He scored versus Harvard, which proved to be the game winning goal for the Wildcats. His second goal of the week came in a win over NJIT. His two goals last week gives him three for this season and seven total points. His three goals are tied for the third most on the team.

The Wildcats have outscored the opposition 26-4 so far this season. UNH is one of just four teams around the nation that have perfect records. The other three are No. 1 Georgetown (8-0-0), No. 3 Washington (9-0-0) and No. 8 Tulsa (9-0-0).

UNH returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 9 versus Binghamton (7-2-0, 2-0-0 AE) at 6 p.m. at Bearcats Sports Complex in Vestal, N.Y.
