DURHAM, N.H. – Trevor Zegras posted a game-high three points for the Terriers as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to Boston University, 4-1, in the first game of the home-and-home series on Friday at the Whittemore Center. The Wildcats fall to 15-12-2 (9-9-1 HEA) on the season, while the Terriers improve to 11-9-8 (8-5-5 HEA). Freshman Chase Stevenson (West Kelowna, British Columbia) scored the lone goal for the Wildcats.

UNH will play BU Saturday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. at Agganis Arena in Boston in the second game of the home-and-home series.

The Wildcats will return to the Whittemore Center on Saturday, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m. when they play No. 11 UMass Lowell on Star Wars night. The Terriers broke the ice at 9:28 of the first period when Wilmer Skoog caught a pass on the right face-off dot from Kasper Kotkansalo, loaded up, and fired a wrist shot off the back crossbar and in. Alex Vlasic also secured an assist on the goal.
Boston University increased its lead to 2-0 at 17:33 of the first period on a five-on-three power play opportunity with a shot from the top of the right circle from Patrick Harper that went high glove side. Zegras and David Farrance received assists on the goal.
After the first period, the Terriers outshot the Wildcats 15-11. Boston University was 1-3 on the power play and UNH was 0-1.
Stevenson put the Wildcats on the board at 3:27 of the second period after receiving a pass from sophomore Eric Esposito (West Haven, Conn.) as he entered the offensive zone on a two-on-one. Stevenson wristed a shot low-stick side from the left circle. Junior Max Gildon (Plano, Texas) also notched an assist on the goal.

The Terriers responded to go up 3-1 at 5:24 of the second period when Zegras fired a shot from the slot through traffic that beat junior goaltender Mike Robinson (Bedford, N.H.) glove side. Jamie Armstrong and Patrick Curry captured assists on the goal.
Boston University made it 4-1 at 12:07 of the second period after Farrance caught a pass atop the left circle that deflected off of Harper's stick and launched a wrist shot far side top shelf.Zegras got the secondary assist on the goal.
In the second period, the Terriers outshot the Wildcats 11-7. Boston University was 0-3 on the power play and UNH was 0-1 in the period.
There was no scoring in the third period as the game ended 4-1.
In the third period, the Wildcats outshot the Terriers 9-5. Boston University was 0-1 on the power play and UNH was 0-0 in the period.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Robinson made 27 saves and falls to 9-10-2 on the season, while Sam Tucker posted 26 saves.
UNH was outshot by Boston University by a 31-27 margin.
The Wildcats went 0-2 on the power play and the Terriers finished 1-6.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
Stevenson's goal marked his fourth of the season.
UNH is now 10-4-1 at the Whittemore Center this season.
