New Hampshire athletes get one last early look at the BU track.
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's track & field team will send athletes down to Boston University this coming Saturday, February 15 for the annual David Hemery Valentine Invitational at the BU Track & Tennis Center. It will serve as a final tune-up before the America East Indoor Championship meet, also held at BU, the following weekend, February 21 and 22.
The Wildcats will once again be led by Zachary Astle (Newbury, N.H.), who returns from a top-4 finish at the Millrose Games in New York City last weekend. Astle has swept the throwing events in every collegiate meet he's competed in the 2019-20 indoor season.
High-jumper Kevin McGrath (Hopkinton, N.H.) will look to continue his strong form in his first full season, still looking to break his career-high set back in December of 6'8.25".
School-record holder Nate Hobbs (Peabody, Mass.) returns to the BU Track and Tennis Center where he took top-five finishes in the Thomas Terrier Classic. He set indoor personal bests earlier this season in both the long and triple jump against Dartmouth and in the home dual meet with Maine back in December.
On the track, the 'Cats will be led by Nicolas Sevilla-Connelly (Chester, N.H.) coming off his first career NEICAAA Championship at this year's New England Indoors, setting a new personal best in the 3000-meter run, and Matthew Adams (Concord, N.H.) who set a personal best in the 800m his last time in the BU track center. Sevilla-Connelly will compete in the mile on Saturday, and Adams will compete in the 500m.
