HOCKEY EAST ANNOUNCES CHANGES IN STANDINGS AND TOURNAMENT
Hockey East made two announcements with regards to standings and the tournament on Tuesday (Dec. 15).
First, it was announced that all games played against league teams will count toward the final standings used to determine tournament seeding, including all games previously played under the "Flex Game" designation. This is a change from the preseason-announced round-robin format.
Hockey East also announced that all eligible teams will qualify for the 2021 Hockey East Tournament.
THE STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
UNH's past four games have been decided by one goal, and each of the Wildcats' last three losses has been by a 2-1 score.
The 'Cats have lost all three Game 1's of the previous three weekend series.
Through six games, UNH is averaging 1.67 goals on 23.7 shots per game while allowing 3.17 goals and 29.8 shots per game. The Wildcats power play has not scored a goal (one shorthanded goal allowed) in 19 opportunities, and the penalty kill is 12-for-15 (80%).
