Wyse named captain; Grasso and Kelleher to be assistant captains.
DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's hockey program has named senior defenseman Anthony Wyse (Newton, Mass.) captain, and junior forwards Patrick Grasso (Ankeny, Iowa) and Charlie Kelleher (Longmeadow, Mass.) assistant captains for the 2019-20 season. Wyse is the 116th captain in program history.
"Anthony is a natural leader and has been since he arrived in Durham," said head coach Mike Souza. "I'm also looking forward to working with both Patrick and Charlie this season as assistant captains. All three of these student-athletes embody the attributes necessary in taking on the challenges and demands that align with being team captains."
Wyse has played in 103 career games with seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points. Last season he recorded a career-best six assists and also scored a goal for seven points. As a sophomore he netted a career-best five goals and posted three assists for a career-best eight points. He has earned the team's Rod Langway Best Defenseman Award for two straight years. Grasso has appeared in 81 games with 29 goals and 29 assists for 58 points. Last season, he posted 15 points on seven goals and eight assists. As a freshman he was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team with 20 goals and 13 assists for 33 points. Grasso is a member of the National College Athlete Honor Society and has earned Hockey East All-Academic accolades every season. Patrick Grasso
Kelleher has played 64 games as a Wildcat, posting seven goals and 33 assists for 40 points. Last season, he led the team with a career-best 18 assists as he also scored three goals for a career-best 21 points which were tied for fourth on the team. As a freshman, Kelleher tied for second on the team with 15 assists, while he netted four goals for 19 points. Charlie Kelleher
