The last week before the ‘Cats head to America East sends 16 Wildcats to the Penn Relays.
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's track & field team continues its busy week with the 125th Penn Relays and the pre-conference meet this weekend, after competing Tuesday night in the Holy Cross men's midweek quadmeet.
The week continues on with the Penn Relays, and annual international track meet highlighting track and field events from all levels from high school up to international.
The Wildcats will send 16 individuals to the Penn Relays, including three relay teams and five individual field athletes. On the track, the Wildcats will compete in the distance medley relay, the 4xMile relay, and the 4x800 relay. Individually, the Wildcats send senior Hani Traboulsi (Bensalem, Pa.) in the discus throw, seniors Jonathan Chapman (Newport, R.I.) and Eric Brogioli (Milford, Mass.) in the hammer throw, and sophomore Jordan Buckmire (Nashua, N.H.) and freshman Nate Hobbs (Peabody, Mass.) in the jumps.
Along with the Penn Relays, New Hampshire also hosts the pre-conference meet in Durham one week ahead of the America East Championship meet. "The meet is for everyone all trying to make conference. That's their goal." Says head coach Jim Boulanger.
The busy week for UNH all leads up to the America East Championship meet, hosted by UAlbany on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5.

FROM THE COACH:
On the end of track season and approaching the end of the semester…
"It's just a busy time of the year track-wise and academically. So they're getting kind of an overwhelmed feeling; we're trying to keep them on the straight and narrow, keep a good focus on what they're doing, with a priority on academics. You can train a little bit faster, but you can't train more and you can't train crazy amounts - if you need to go five miles instead of eight, just make it go a little faster, and don't go any longer. The big goal is to try to get rested, and go from there. It's exciting, it's the end of the year as always. Very crazy and everything focused on the conference meet."
