Throwers shine in the annual men’s midweek meet.
WORCESTER, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire men's track and field team competed Tuesday afternoon at the Holy Cross Men's Quad-meet, a yearly mid-week tradition in the outdoor track and field season. With no team scores in the meet, UNH athletes looked to improve their personal best marks and get last minute qualifying seeds to the conference meet. UNH athletes competed against athletes from Holy Cross, Rhode Island, and Worcester state.
The Wildcats were led by senior Eric Brogioli (Milton, Mass.) who won the hammer throw with a distance of 182 feet, 9 inches. This comes after setting a new personal best at Northeastern over the weekend (184'). The Wildcats also took runner up in the hammer, with junior Edward Speidel (Dover, N.H.) taking second with a new personal best distance of 180'1".
The 4x400 relay team of freshman Ian Daly (Meredith, N.H.), fifth-year Rob Franger (Shrewsbury, Mass.), fellow fifth year Thomas Harter (Hampton, N.H.) and junior Casey Farrell (Glastonbury, Conn.) took a tie for first with a time of 3 minutes, 23.91 seconds.
Other big throwing performances for UNH came from senior Hani Traboulsi (Bensalem, Pa.) and freshman John King Jr. (Derry, N.H.). Traboulsi finished top four in two throwing events; third in the shot put (48'0.75") and fourth in the discus (144'7"). King took third in the javelin, and set a new personal best with a distance of 183'9".

New Hampshire travels to the Penn Relays from Thursday, April 25 to Saturday the 27th. UNH also hosts the America East pre-conference meet Saturday, April 27 at the Reggie Atkins Track & Field Facility beginning at 11 A.M., one week ahead of the America East Championship meet.

- In the sprint relay, the 4x100 team of three freshmen, Orion Clachar (Northwood, N.H.), Emmanuel Nkounkou (Dover, N.H.), Michael Monahan (Tewksbury, Mass.) and junior Joseph Hook (Rockaway, N.J.) took second with a time of 44.65 seconds.
- Apart from that relay team, Nkounkou also had top finishes in the high jump and the long jump; he took a tie for third in the high jump with a height of 5'10.75", and fourth in the long jump with a distance of 21'1.5". Clachar took fourth in the 400 meter hurdles, setting a new personal best at 55.74 seconds.
- In the 400m, Harter finished fourth in 50.35 seconds, followed by freshman Chris Pinkham (Concord, N.H.) in fifth in 50.61 seconds.
- In the 110 meter hurdles, Monahan took fourth in 15.12 seconds.
- In the pole vault, junior Connor Morris (Rumson, N.J.) took fourth place with a height of 11'5.75".
