The annual men’s quad-meet kicks off a full week for New Hampshire.
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's track & field team gets right back into action after a big weekend at Northeastern as the Wildcats head to Worcester, Mass. for the annual Holy Cross Classic men's meet.
Several Wildcats return from last year's meet and look to raise the bar even higher in the unscored meet. Riding three straight meet victories, the Wildcats aim to use the quad-meet as another step towards their goal of finishing high in the conference championship meet.
New Hampshire expects more big things out of throwers Eric Brogioli (Milford, Mass) and Edward Speidel (Dover, N.H.), coming off of a big weekend in Northeaster taking second and third in the hammer throw at the Jay Carisella invitational, with Speidel setting a new personal best in the event.
On the track and in the hurdles the Wildcats have looked to freshmen Michael Monahan (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Emmanuel Nkounkou (Dover, N.H.), who were both a part of a first place 4x100 relay team at Northeastern, to lead the charge at the quad meet Tuesday afternoon. As individuals, Monahan was also the runner up in the 110 meter hurdles at Northeastern and Nkounkou ended the high jump in a four-way tie for first.
