GAME RECAP
- The Terriers took an early 1-0 lead just five minutes into the first period, on a goal scored by Sammy Davis.
- Five minutes later BU tallied another on a power play; a puck ricocheting around the defense found the stick of De Sousa, who put it past Smith for the 2-0 lead.
- The second period went without a goal on either side; Boston University continued the pressure as they outshot UNH in the period 14-4.
- New Hampshie came back firing in the third, outshooting the Terriers 15-6 in the period.
- An unlucky play in the defensive zone had a puck off the stick of Sammy Davis bounce off a UNH skate and into the net to give BU a 3-0 lead 6:54 into the period.
- An a power play soon after, the Wildcats got a turnover and pushed up ice. Jenna Rheault (Deering, N.H.) passed across from the right side to a waiting Meghara McManus on the left side; McManus dangled through the defense, stopped just short of the crease, and rebounded the puck off of Schroeder and put it into the opening created by her sudden stop, putting UNH on the board.
- Late in the period the Wildcats tried to pull Smith for a 6-on-4 power play opportunity but a late penalty cut the try short and BU held on for the win.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- UNH ends the season with a 6-11-3 road record.
