DURHAM, N.H. – Junior guard Caroline Soucy (Beverly, Mass.) and freshman forward Ivy Gogolin (Hopkinton, Mass.) each contributed a double-double, but it was not quite enough and the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team came up just short at the buzzer and dropped a 51-50 decision to Vermont on Wednesday night in Lundholm Gymnasium.
Soucy had 17 points and Gogolin was right behind with 15 and each set a new career high in rebounds with 12.
The loss snapped UNH's two-game win streak. The Wildcats are now 6-19 overall and 3-9 in America East.
Vermont is 10-14 and 6-6.
