Nicole Dunbar retaliated less than 60 seconds after a Northeastern goal.

BOSTON – Sophomore forward Nicole Dunbar (Coto de Caza, Calif.) answered a first-period Northeastern goal with a goal of her own under 60 seconds later, but the Huskies would score the series-clinching tally in the second period to eliminated the University of New Hampshire from the women's Hockey East tournament.

Freshman goaltender Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) made 34 saves in the loss, holding the Huskies to just two goals. The Wildcats had several chances in the final two periods to equalize but the Northeastern defense held them to just a goal.

GAME RECAP
First Period:

A power play resulted in a quick goal for the Huskies, with Tori Sullivan sitting just to the right of Boutilier caught a shot and deflected the shot past her just seconds into a power play.
Less than a minute later, Nicole Dunbar found the lose puck to the right of Frankel and tipped it into the net while traffic clogged the front of the net. Meghara McManus took an initial tap on it in the traffic for the assist.
In the first UNH went 0-1 on the power play, NU went 1-1 on the power play.

Second Period:

The Huskies came out firing and on their first opportunity, 1:11 into the period, Sullivan struck again to the right side of Boutilier before she could get back in position. The Huskies took a 2-1 lead.
Northeastern pulled ahead to a 15-6 shot advantage in the second while holding New Hampshire scoreless, despite two Wildcat power play opportunities.

Third Period:

No goals were scored in the third period. Northeastern led in shots 11-6. The Wildcats held the Huskies scoreless on two third period power plays; the Wildcats were 0-1 on their third period power play.
