Kenefick Top UNH Finisher at BU Opener

Kenefick and Ulrich both competed in the 5000m run to start the season.

BOSTON – University of New Hampshire seniors Timothy Kenefick (Guilford, Conn.) and William Ulrich (Mineola, N.Y.) both competed at the BU Season Opener on Saturday afternoon.

Kenefick and Ulrich finished one-two in their section, with Kenefick finishing first in 14 minutes, 45.88 seconds and Ulrich taking second in 14:56.18. Their times would put them in 23^rd and 28^th respectively, for their first results of the season.

Kenefick's personal best in the event, 14:34.63, was set at the America East 2018 indoor championship. This was Ulrich's first 5000m finish in indoor track, but his personal best in the 5K in cross country was 14:59.5, set at this year's CCSU mini meet.

UP NEXT:
The following weekend, December 7 and 8, the Wildcats head to Dartmouth for the Dartmouth Pentathlon on Friday night and a quad-meet on Saturday featuring Dartmouth, Vermont, and Maine. This will be UNH's final meet before the winter break.
