DMR, ’Cats Kick Off Outdoor Season in Virginia, Maine Meet Moved to Sunday

DURHAM, N.H. - Coming off a strong performance in the IC4A's in Boston to close out the indoor season, the University of New Hampshire's distance medley team leads the men's outdoor track team into its opening meet of the season at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va., this weekend.
The Wildcats are competing in the 52nd annual Colonial Relays at William & Mary.
UNH runners will compete in individual events and relays through the weekend.
Sophomores Brett Hoerner (Manchester, N.H.) and William Ulrich (Mineola, N.Y.) and senior Jacob Kittredge (Amherst, N.H.) will race in the 800 meter run.
The Wildcats will split their squad for the weekend and a contingent is also headed to Orono for a meet against the University of Maine and Bates College.

The DMR finished second to Northeastern in the IC4A Championships at the Track & Tennis Center at Boston University on March 5.
The squad of Hoerner, Hardy, Kittredge and Ulrich turned in a time of 9:52.52 to earn its runner-up spot.

- UNH will also host the America East outdoor track & field championships this spring on May 6 and 7.

- Junior Brandon Allen (East Elmhurst, N.Y.), seniors John Cox (Rome, Ga.) and Ross Hardy (No. Andover, Mass.) in the 400.
- Senior Andrew McFarland (Nazareth, Pa.) in the intermediate hurdles.
- The Wildcats will run in the 4x400 relay as well as in the DMR.
- Junior hurdler and jumper Joel Nkounkou (Dover, N.H.).
- Junior Nicholas Ritzo (Rye, N.H.), sophomore Eric Brogioli (Milford, Mass.) and freshman Zachary Astle (Newbury, N.H.) in the throws.
- Junior distance runner Timothy Kenefick (Guilford, Conn).
