HOW IT HAPPENED
Eiserman got the Wildcats on the board first at 7:38 of the first period with his fifth goal of the season. The play started when Grasso intercepted a pass from the River Hawks and fed the puck up ice to Eiserman in the neutral zone. He skated in and ripped a shot past the glove of UML netminder Tyler Wall.
The 'Cats gained a 2-0 advantage at 15:11 of the first frame as Grasso recorded his second point of the night and 20th goal of the season. Junior Dylan Chanter (Armstrong, British Columbia) sent a pass to Grasso in the neutral zone and skated in to the River Hawks' zone. He fired a low shot that beat Wall to his right and found the back of the net.
The River Hawks brought the score to 2-1 at 12:25 of the second period with a goal by Nick Master, his fourth of the year. Evan Campbell sent a pass to Dylan Zink at the point who fired a shot in on net. Master tipped the shot on the way in that was saved by Danny Tirone (Trumbull, Conn.). He then got his own rebound and put it away.
Vela regained a two-goal lead for UNH at 13:44 of the second period with his third goal of the year. Vela forced a turnover in the UMass Lowell zone to the right of Wall and skated at the net. He made a couple of moves with his stick and beat Wall between the legs to light the lamp.
