Roll To The Goal Northeast Passage Power Soccer Challenge

DURHAM, N.H. -- Join us Saturday, March 25, 5pm to 7pm in the Lundholm Gymnasium at the University of New Hampshire in Durham as the UNH men's soccer team takes on New Hampshire's Northeast Passage power soccer team. The Roll to the Goal Power Soccer Challenge promises to be a fun and competitive event. Come watch as athletes on both teams compete using specialized power wheelchairs. Power soccer is the first competitive team sport designed and developed specifically for athletes with disabilities. The indoor game is played in power wheelchairs on a regulation size basketball court. Two teams of four players attack, defend, and spin-kick a 13-inch soccer ball in this challenging game that requires athletic ability and skill.
Admission to the Roll to the Goal event is $5/person or $2 with student ID. Proceeds will benefit Northeast Passage (NEP), www.northeastpassage.org, a local non-profit organization dedicated to creating an environment in which individuals with disabilities can enjoy recreation with the same freedom of choice, quality of life, and independence as their non-disabled peers.
The UNH men's soccer team and the NEP power soccer team first connected last year, when Exeter High School student and NEP team member, Lucas Currier, was officially signed to the UNH team roster. Since then, the relationship between the teams has grown, with members showing support at each other's practices, and rooting each other on during games. The teams will now finally get the chance to compete against each other during the Roll to the Goal Power Soccer Challenge! We hope you will join us for this unique, fun, and spirited event to support a great cause.
